Beautiful writing and lovely story!

Needing to find a new book during this long pandemic, I went to my bookshelf and re-discovered “Unearthing Christmas.” I read this shortly after it came out, and enjoyed it even more on the second read. The plot vacillates from the 1950’s to sixty years later, so the reader is able to envision the adventures from a fourteen-year-old perspective to an adults view. Very well written and extremely entertainin

Intriguing and heartwarming

I was unsure of what to expect of a young reader story. I was immediately drawn in by the characters and the expertly crafted mystery. “Unearthing Christmas” is a heartwarming and satisfying read!

“Unearthing Christmas” is a delightful novel for teens and adults

“Unearthing Christmas” is a delightful novel for teens and adults. Both my youngest granddaughter (age 14) and I read the book with equal pleasure. As a former reading teacher, I can visualize the use of this book as a class project. Especially because of the high level of vocabulary which my granddaughter mentioned as a challenge for her.
The variety of sentence structure also demonstrates the skill of Ms. Piscarik and models outstanding writing skill. I am certainly anticipating the publishing of her sequel in the very near future.

Finding the Past in the Present

Unearthing Christmas will draw in both teenagers and grandparents and everyone in between. There is a sense of wonder at Christmas where we remember the past and seek meaning as we either gaze up to find the Star or dig deep! Teenagers are at a crossroads unlike any other and here is a story that will reel them in and lead them to a similar crossroad between the past and the present with adventure that is completed by a message of awareness and meaning. I bought several copies of this great book as gifts for the teenagers in our life!
